Jonas Schüsselin studied jazz piano, classical singing, and composition at the music academies in Freiburg and Trossingen. Since 2023, he has been pursuing a master's degree in film music composition at the Film University Babelsberg.
His film scores are characterized by emotionally sensitive and intimate writing. In Seht ihr mich? (2024), he composed a tender, childlike score, while Hell Clings to Me (2024) features a subtle, jazz-influenced noir sound. His work often focuses on nuanced character perspectives and emotional depth.
Outside of film, Jonas is co-founder of the audiovisual ensemble Konglomerat, where he explores hybrid formats combining acoustic and electronic soundscapes with visual elements. In June 2025, Konglomerat presented the immersive installation Liminal Space at the Kontakte Festival Berlin. Earlier that year, the ensemble debuted the multimedia concert System Overload in collaboration with the Percaso String Quartet.
Jonas also composes concert works with a strong focus on orchestration and ensemble writing. His orchestral piece On Light and Dust was recorded by the Filmorchester Babelsberg in early 2025. In 2024, his chamber work Schemen premiered at the Film University’s anniversary concert. Earlier compositions include Fading Memories (2022) for string quartet and jazz ensemble, performed at the Freiburg University of Music.
